The Influence of Artificial Diamond Material Core on the Life of Wire Drawing Die
Artificial diamond, also known as polycrystalline diamond, is a polycrystalline material formed by the undirected polymerization of many single crystal particles. It has high strength and hardness, strong impact resistance, uniform properties, and good comprehensive performance. When drawing medium and fine wires, the service life is longer than that of diamond and hard alloy molds, and the wire size is stable, with good surface quality. However, the grain size of artificial polycrystalline diamond is relatively large, making it difficult to polish, and the surface smoothness of the stretched fine wire is not as good as that of natural diamond. By refining grain size, polishing performance can be improved, replacing natural diamonds on drawing dies for medium and fine wires, greatly reducing costs and improving product quality.
