Other Classifications Of Molds

(1) Hot runner mold
By using a heating device, the plastic in the pouring system will not solidify or demould with the product, so it is also known as a runner free mold. Advantages: 1) No waste; 2) It can reduce injection pressure and can use multi cavity molds; 3) It can shorten the molding cycle; 4) It improves the quality of the product and is suitable for the characteristics of hot runner molding plastics; 5) The melting temperature range of plastics is wide. At low temperatures, it has good fluidity, while at high temperatures, it has good thermal stability. 6) Sensitive to pressure, does not flow without pressure, but can flow when pressure is applied. 7) Good heat resistance for quick cooling in the mold. The plastics available for hot runner include PE, ABS, POM, PC, HIPS, and PS. There are two commonly used hot runner models: 1) heated runner model; 2) adiabatic runner model.
(2) Hard mold
The steel plate used for the internal mold needs to undergo heat treatment, such as quenching and carburizing, after purchase to meet the requirements for use. Such injection molds are called hard molds, such as H13 steel, 420 steel, and S7 steel used for the internal mold.
(3) Soft mold (below 44HRC)
The steel used for the internal mold can meet the requirements of use without the need for heat treatment after purchase. This type of injection molding is called soft mold. If the internal mold is made of P20 steel, ace steel, 420 steel, NAK80, aluminum, and beryllium copper.
